Hi everyone! We are really excited to get started with a new year of Emergency Medicine Interest Group! This year we have a lot of great things in store. EMIG will be a little different this year with even more opportunities for member involvement than ever before. Here are a few of the things to look forward…

* In addition to monthly meetings with our incredible Emergency Medicine faculty here at UK, we will be having monthly workshops to help develop practical skills to add to your clinical skill set. Some workshops already planned included Sutures, Emergency Ultrasound, Airway Management, ECG Interpretation, and Trauma Assessment to name a few.

* We’re also working on making shadowing more accessible to members by offering shadowing buddies for those new to shadowing in the Emergency Room. This includes help getting access to scrubs, having a more senior medical student with you on your 1st day, and tips for maximizing your shadowing experience.

* We are also helping interested members get involved in research by keeping you in the loop on current research opportunities and providing guidance for getting involved in Emergency Medicine research at UK.
